HWPL Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Global Peace Summit Spanning 122 Countries

The Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) is commemorating its 10th Anniversary World Peace Summit with events across 122 countries, starting September 18, 2024. The summit, themed 'Creating World Peace Community through Regional Collaboration', highlights a decade of HWPL's efforts in peace-building and sets a forward-looking agenda for global harmony initiatives. With 500,000 members across 170 countries and partnerships with 1,014 organizations in 105 countries, HWPL's impact on global peace is undeniable.

Chairman Lee Man-hee of HWPL underscored the importance of religious dialogue in achieving peace, stating the need to leave a legacy of peace for future generations. The summit showcases HWPL's collaborations with significant international bodies like the Group of 7+ (G7+) and The Latin American Parliament (Parlatino), aiming to develop comprehensive peace initiatives globally.

A highlight of HWPL's work includes the peace education project in Timor-Leste, in partnership with eight higher education institutions, as presented by Dr. Jose Honorio da Costa Pereira Jeronimo. This initiative aims to cultivate future global citizens and lay the groundwork for societal peace. H.E. Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu reflected on the 2014 HWPL summit's role in fostering global unity, emphasizing the belief in global peace beyond mere initiatives.

In South Korea, the summit has inspired 'Together: Connecting Korea', a campaign for social harmony supported by 230 civil society organizations. This effort seeks to bridge divides and promote environmental protection, illustrating HWPL's commitment to addressing global challenges through collaboration and localized approaches to peace-building.
