Blue Faery Hosts Spanish-Language Liver Cancer Workshops to Address Health Disparities in Hispanic Community

Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association is addressing significant health disparities in the Hispanic community through two free online workshops conducted entirely in Spanish during Hispanic Heritage Month. The sessions, scheduled for September 24 and October 9, feature presentations by gastroenterologists Dr. Andrés Gómez-Aldana and Dr. María Rita Lepe-Suastegui, who will provide comprehensive information on liver disease and cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Hispanic Americans experience disproportionately higher rates of liver disease and liver cancer compared to other demographic groups, with language and cultural barriers often preventing access to essential health information. The Love Your Liver program specifically targets these barriers by delivering culturally relevant education in Spanish, empowering participants to take proactive steps toward protecting their liver health. Each workshop includes a live Q&A segment where patients, caregivers, and community members can ask direct questions and receive practical guidance from medical experts.

Blue Faery's mission focuses on preventing, treating, and curing primary liver cancer through research, education, and advocacy.
