MOSTe's Inaugural Luncheon to Showcase Decades of Empowering Young Women

The nonprofit organization MOSTe is gearing up for its inaugural luncheon fundraiser, titled 'Empowering Girls and Elevating Futures,' scheduled for June 7, 2025, at the San Antonio Winery in Downtown Los Angeles. This event not only marks a significant milestone in MOSTe's 39-year journey but also shines a spotlight on its unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of girls from under-resourced communities through comprehensive mentorship and academic programs.

With a notable 38% increase in scholar enrollment this academic year, MOSTe's reach now extends across 19 communities in Los Angeles County. The organization plays a pivotal role in the lives of its scholars, the majority of whom come from low to moderate-income households, with 62.2% living below the poverty line. The luncheon aims to celebrate the achievements of these young women, many of whom have gone on to become professionals in various fields, thanks to the belief and support they received from MOSTe.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Nicole Fisher, MOSTe has introduced innovative programs for the 2024-2025 academic year, including the MOSTe Leadership Academy, College Readiness, and Mentorship & Career Pathways initiatives. These programs are designed to equip scholars with the necessary tools for academic success, community engagement, and career preparedness. Through partnerships with organizations like Heal the Bay and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, scholars also gain valuable volunteer experience, further enriching their educational journey.

The upcoming luncheon will not only serve as a platform for student and alumnae speakers to share their stories but also as an opportunity for the community to learn about MOSTe's current programs and their impact. By fostering connections among supporters, corporate partners, and the broader community, MOSTe aims to amplify its efforts in supporting young women's educational and professional aspirations. This event underscores the importance of community investment in empowering the next generation of female leaders, highlighting the transformative power of education and mentorship.
